New Board Inaugrated For Waste Landfills

A board of Directors for waste landfill has been inaugurated.

Waste Landfills Company limited is the latest company to be added to the Zoomlion group of companies. This new company formerly the landfill division of Zoomlion Ghana limited has been detached from its mother company Zoomlion to enhance its operations and provide it an autonomous platform to compete and consolidate its position as a vanguard in the waste management industry.
As the name suggests, waste landfills company will offer its clients including Zoomlion first class environmentally friendly disposal solutions and further engage other stakeholders to add value to the waste management value chain by participating in the following; Construction of landfills, Installation of landfill gas infrastructure, Decommissioning of old dumpsites, Construction and maintenance of waste transfer stations.

The seven members are Ing. Owura Sarfo, Mr. Anderson Blay, Mr. Prosper Kotoka, Mr. Maxwell Amihere, Nana. Adjei Mensah, Mr. Emmanuel Annum Tetteh, Mr. Peter Kwei Dagadu.

The 7-member board of the authority is being chaired by Ing.Owura Sarfo.

During the inauguration on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, the Executive Chairman of the Zoomliom Group outlined his vision for the company, elaborating on the need to strategically dominate the final stage of waste management chain (i.e waste treatment & disposal) to be relevant in the industry. He tasked the board comprising experienced waste management practitioners to explore all opportunities available to finance its operations and build a strong team to run the company.

The boards made up of distinguished members of the industry were inducted during the short ceremony into office by the head of legal, Lawyer Kwame Gyan.

On behalf of the new board, Ing Owura Sarfo accepted the challenge and promised that his team will live up to expectation.
